2. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, add a payment method, start a charging session or contact us. We collect charging and technical data automatically when you use the Service. We may also receive information from charge point operators on the EVIQ network, roaming partners, our payment provider and sign in providers.

4. SMS messaging
Program description: EVIQ sends SMS messages to verify your mobile phone number when you create an account, sign in or add a payment method, and to send transactional notifications about your charging sessions, payments and account. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS unless you separately opt in.
How you opt in: you opt in by entering your mobile number in the EVIQ app or at eviq.tech and tapping "Send code", after agreeing to the SMS consent disclosure shown on that screen. You can also opt in by adding or changing your mobile number in Account settings.
What we collect for messaging: your mobile phone number, the date and time you consented, the messages we send you and their delivery status.
Message frequency: message frequency varies. Typically you will receive one verification code per sign in or account change and occasional transactional alerts about your charging sessions and payments.
Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your carrier and plan, and may include international roaming charges if you use a non Australian number.
How to opt out: reply STOP to any message to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help or contact support@eviq.tech. Opting out may limit your ability to verify your account or receive important alerts.
Our SMS program is also described in our Terms of Service.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and SMS delivery, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to operate the Service:
Charge point operators: the operator of a charger you use receives the session data needed to supply and account for the electricity, including session times and energy delivered. Operators do not receive your payment card details.
Roaming partners: if you charge at a station on a partner network via roaming, the partner receives the identifiers and session data needed to authorise and bill the session.
Service providers: companies that host our infrastructure, process payments, deliver SMS and email, provide mapping and analytics, and help us with customer support. These providers may only use your information to provide services to us.
Sign in providers: Google or Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
Regulators and law enforcement: where required by law, court order or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
Business transfers: if we sell or transfer our business or assets, your information may be transferred to the new owner subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information.
6. Overseas disclosure
Our infrastructure is hosted in Australia. Some of our service providers, including our SMS, email, analytics and payment providers, may store or process information in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. How we keep it secure
We protect personal information using encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, logging and regular security reviews. Card details are handled by a PCI DSS compliant payment provider and never stored on our systems. No system is completely secure, and you should keep your login details confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your personal information for as long as you have an account and for as long as needed afterwards to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
